Life, that is. Some were born with a golden spoon. Some were not. Some people are lucky, some struggle. During the lowest points of my life - years ago, I asked Him “Why me?” I’ve not harmed anyone. Why did I have to go through all those obstacles?
Since that day on, I convinced and made myself believed that life is not all about luck. Rather it’s a game of luck - where people win and lose.
- I may have lost the chance of having a degree in college but I have gained knowledge and will power at 21.
- I may have lost my monthly school allowance but I have received salaries out of my hard work.
- I may have lost numbers of friends from school but I have gained real ones during my weakest days.
Did you just notice God’s equal work?
I did. In my own so-called life. Not to forget the rewards I got, my 2Ds > Derrick and Deye.

Medically
I still feel the need to recover from my first pregnancy. It wasn’t easy when you’re working.
Financially
A growing family has to have sufficient funds to be able to provide each one’s needs. At the moment, we are not ready for this.
Emotionally
This is my primary concern. I know how it is. I was the only child - for almost 10 years. My mom gave birth to my brother when I was already 9 years and 5 months to be exact. I was excited of course. But changes somehow affected me. I was not alone anymore. The family as a whole was delighted as a result of this new addition. I felt a little jealous every time my dad would ask for my brother first, who was miles away at that time.
We are talking about a 9 year old girl here. What about an 18 month old little girl? How would she react if she sees her mother carrying , feeding and comforting another child?
We still stand firm with our decision - we’re not having another baby till everyone is ready.
But if it’s God’s will, we will accept and take the challenge of having another one - whole heartedly.

Two weeks before the big news was confirmed, I often find myself in one of the convenient stores nearby our house. And it has become a part of my morning routine - before I go to work. I would thoroughly check the banana skin, they should have no black spots and if they do, I would confront the store guy and demand for a good one. Along with that, I would buy a liter of whole milk and keep it in the office fridge. That went on for like almost two weeks - everyday.
I recall having breast pains at that time. But never had an idea that I could be pregnant. There were no other signs. No throwing up. No dizziness. Nothing. I told my mom about it. Including the banana and milk thing. Then she told me to get a pregnancy test kit and have a check. I still did not.
After 10 days of delay, my friend called me out of the blue and asked “Mitch, did you get your period already?” I wanted to ask, why do you wanna know? Instead, I said “Oh not yet! And I don’t wanna know if I am pregnant if that’s your purpose of asking me…. I don’t want another disappointment. Since February, It’s been like this, so maybe I’ll get it in another few days”.
After the conversation, I suddenly thought of what my mom said. That made me bought a test kit.
The next day, D was off. After office hours, we headed to town. And there we passed a pharmacy. I sent him in to get a test kit. Hehehe! As soon as we got home, something was telling me “go and check”. I was hesitant coz they said it’s more accurate if you do it in the morning. But then I thought, I could get another one for tomorrow morning.
I got two lines. One must’ve represented the glass of milk while the other one was for the banana. *wink*
And the rest came after……

High school days were the best! I had no second thought of posting this meme to my blog when I first saw it in Liza’s blog.
I graduated in St. Joseph High School - Olongapo City with a loyalty award. Yup, you’ve read it right - I was a loyalty awardee. I was there since grade school. If college was already there at that time, I would’ve enrolled myself there too!
1. Who was your best friend? Maricel. We fondly call her Chel. I’m glad we still are the best of friends. Distance was never a problem for us. We’ve managed to keep our friendship since graduation day and even after I left home. She’s now in Idaho, but we still keep in touch, almost everyday.
2. Did you play any sports? Never. It ’s not my thing.
3. What kind of car did you drive? Bump car bwehehehe!
4. It’s Friday night. Where were you? Just home. Those times, I wasn’t allowed to go on a night out with friends.
5. Were you a party animal? No. First of all, I don’t know how to dance. ;-)
6. Were you considered a flirt? No. Some said I’m the counterpart of Maria Clara. Ows? ;-)
7. Were you in the band, orchestra or choir? I’ve always been a school choir member.
8. Were you a nerd? Nope. I was normal nyahahaha! I didn’t mean that nerds aren’t. :p
9. Were you ever suspended or expelled? Never.
10. Can you sing the fight song? Huh? What’s that? ;-)
11. Who was your favorite teacher? Our 4th year class adviser. She’s the best!
12. What was your school mascot? I wonder if we ever had!
13. Did you go to the Prom? Of course. Baby sometimes love just ain’t enough, yihiiiiiiiiiiii!
14. If you could go back, would you? I won’t. I love where I am now and who I had become. But memories will always be there.
15. What do you remember most about graduation? Our graduation song was Heal The World. First three sections were 4-F, 4-O and 4-U (F-O-U-R-T-H Y-E-EA-AR-R-S). I belonged to 4-O. For some reasons, first section seemed to have their own world. They were like separate from the rest. There was a part in the song that sings “for you and for me and the entire human race…” Instead, we sung it like this “4-U and 4-O and the entire human race”. For us, it was just plain fun but that line became a big issue in the school.
16. Where were you on Senior Skip Day? Not that I know. Hehehe!
17. Did you have a job your senior year? No but I tried., with McDo. I passed the exam but failed the interview. I still remember the question though “How many times should you rinse the clothes when hand washed?” I quickly answered “till the bubbles are gone” mwahahaha!
18. Where did you go most often for lunch? I go home. It only takes 10 minutes to ride a jeepney anyway.
19. Have you gained weight since then? Oh yes! I’m positive with that hahaha!
20. What did you do after graduation? I took the exams in the following : UST > Fine Arts, passed. I find the tuition fee expensive; CEU > Tourism, passed. I just went with the flow; Adamson > Architecture, passed. Funny how I ended up taking BS Industrial Eng’g in Adamson.
21. What year did you graduate? I graduated from high school in 1993.
22. Who was your Senior Prom Date? Next question please…. Hehehe! Seriously, none. I was out with friends after the prom. Oh! Did you mean during the prom night? No one.
23. Are you going/did you go to your 10 year reunion? I didn’t make it. I was already here in Bahrain.
Let me dig my old purse tonight and see if my grad pic was still there. I’ll post it here.
I wanna hear from Arlene and Analyse.

I never used to believe in Cyber or Online Friendship. I find it unsafe and fake. Since I learned chatting years ago, I met so many people online but the friendship never stayed. It was just there when the chat room was still existing. And when it’s gone, they also disappeared.
Until one day, I landed in Kuro. Man that was four years ago!
It was in year 2003, when I registered and that was before I could go to India to meet the parents who are now my in-laws
.
It was in 2004 when I got married. They were happy to hear that I was finally settling down after 5 years of being together.
It was in year 2005 when I got pregnant. Everyone was impatiently waiting for my little one. Everybody wished for my safety delivery. I felt secured and important at that moment. I had gained so many tips from the experienced moms out there. Then I thought of requesting a separate forum called Mom Zone. It’s really fun interacting with other expectant and first time moms online. And being the starter of this forum, I was recognized to become a Moderator. It was rewarding and fulfilling somehow.
It was in year 2006 when I realized, this isn’t cyber friendship anymore. I have gained a lot of knowledge, emotions, friends, etc since I joined this community and even introduced it to some of my close friends, including my mother and betterhalf.
And it was in year 2007 when this so-called cyber friendship finally turned into reality…
I had fun. I really had fun meeting some of them in person. Seems like we’ve known each other for so long. I was keen for a moment. But their smiles and warm welcome made me more comfortable. Kudos to KFG! You’ve made my March 9 memorable!
But of course, there’s more to it! If March 9 was memorable, March 28-29 topped it all! Just for one reason. For one simple reason. After 4 years of exchanging thoughts and advices…
We’ve finally met! M-e-r-c-y. My now official kumare. I had to travel 5 hours to reach her. But there were no questions like what color are you goin’ to wear on that day? Will you be there on time? When I saw her, I knew it was her. No confusions. No questions. Seems like we’ve known each other for a long long time.
And as promised, she came home the next day. Imagine the trouble we had? 5 + 5 hours of traveling from Subic to Pangasinan. 5 + 5 hours of traveling from Pangasinan to Subic.
We’ve shared more secrets. We laughed. To top it all, it’s all worth it.
