Weekly Question #2:

Let’s say it IS possible to have that one chance to be another person for a day, who would you choose to be and why?

This question made me think a lot. I’d choose to be my late grandmother (maternal). When I was still working abroad, my grandmother would always ask me “‘neng kelan ka ba mag-aasawa?, gusto ko na baga makita ang makuapo ko sa imo”. She’s a Bicolana, that’s why...

I remember the last words she told me 5 years ago several hours before I left the house off to the airport “tahan na, dai pa man ako magagadan ta halaton ko pa ang makuapo ko sa imo”, she was consoling me and told me that I’d still see her alive the next time I come home, coz she still wants to see her grandchild.

Those words somehow calmed me. Until… I received a call 4 months later. My grandmother passed away. That was 9 months before my wedding day. I wasn’t able to see her wake coz I just had my vacation during that time. But as promised, I’d let her see my daughter no matter what. Last year that’s the first thing we did – visited my grandmother’s grave. Yup, I brought my daughter with me. I know somewhere out there, she’s watching over us with a big smile on her face. That’s the reason why I’d choose to be her even for a day, that way I’d be granting her long over due wish – to see her grandchild from me.
