Flagellation – an act of whipping own body for a solemn sacrifice to God.

On our way to the Resort in Bo. Barretto this morning, we saw these men on the street doing the flagellation. It’s the first time my daughter is seeing it. She asked why there was blood. I just answered “it’s their sacrifice for they have sinned”. Not sure if I answered right or if she understood. Someday she will on her own understanding.

Here’s another photo that I was able to capture. I told my cousin in law to drive slowly so I could capture them, but the traffic enforcer was in a rush that I almost missed it and went on a gutter. Teased my cousin that next time he should check car insurance online first before driving.I purposely joked about it coz everyone was seem to be tensed.
