It’s been almost a week since we moved to our new apartment, yet, I still haven’t blogged about it. I have been busy supervising my househelp with the household chores, then we take turns of taking care of my daughters plus the loaded offline tasks I had to finish outside.
I love our new place, it may not showcase an electric fireplace, or a tall glass window or a complete set of heavy duty appliances, but I’m proud to say it does look like a well-maintained house now.
When I get a chance later this evening, I will share some photos with you.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, we’re moving out to the apartment which my Uncle owns. It’s a new apartment and the best part is we got the door on the second floor. That’s right! I won’t have to worry even if it floods on the street and the whole area, my stuff are safe. Speaking of stuff, the other day I bought some new furniture and appliances like dining set, sofa set, stove, A/C, TV stand/rack and some kitchen items like dishrack, tableware and cutleries. Luckily, my brother is coming for vacation in the next two weeks and he’s buying a new fridge for my mom. The old one (which I partly own hehe!) goes to my apartment. I still have to buy a TV for us as I am not taking my TV when we move out as well as the corner sofa set that the Sheriff gave me.
Since I have an airbed and ate Deye got her own bed, I am buying a bed next payday to give way to other expenses like school supplies and groceries. Aaaargh! There’s more. The list of things to buy goes on and on and right now my head is spinning.

When I woke up this morning, I had a lighter feeling knowing our new househelp will be there! I waited. 8am, still a no show! Sent her a message and asked her what time was she coming in coz I have errands to finish outside.
Then only she replied saying her 10 y/o doesn’t like the idea of leaving her. Well, the agreement was for the time being. We, have, in fact offered her that she could bring her daughter along with her and stay with us, at least Deye could have a playmate. She happily accepted and even requested if she could start on Wednesday, and that was supposed to be starting this morning.
Giving me the reason that her daughter didn’t like the idea which I understand, I offered her another opp that I’ll pay for her everyday fare from our place to their place back and forth till she finishes school this month. She said okay, I will talk to her again. Told her to miss call me so she won’t have to spend her mobile credit. Half an hour passed,

We’ve been househelpless for a week now. Last Monday, our househelp sent me an SMS saying she couldn’t come to work coz she’s not well. May trangkaso daw. The next day, I asked how she was and I guess it was already a hint when she replied “nahihiya ako nag-absent na naman ako, kung gusto mo na akong palitan okay lang”. I said “No, I didn’t mean anything like that, I just wanna know how you were doing. Take your time and rest well, come back when you feel better”, I told her.
My intention was “mangamusta lang” and let her feel our concern. Last night, Friday, I tried to call her. After so many ring/s, someone picked up the call but it wasn’t her. It was her husband. He said “Wala po sya dito umuwi sa Pampanga kanina lang, pinatawag ng nanay nya”. I said “Oh okay po nangangamusta lang ulit, pero magaling na po ba sya? Pakisabi na lang po tumawag kami.”

Fruit of Online & Overseas Hardwork
8 Comments Published February 3rd, 2010 in Earnings, Etcetera, Family, Home. It’s been almost 3 months since my brother left for work abroad. A typical OFW son/daughter sends money to his/her parents to help and that’s what my brother does now. I would always tell him these days “it’s your turn” and I’m glad he happily takes over the responsibilities I used to have. Our parents make sure that the money he sends monthly won’t go wasted.
With the recent flood incidents we had in the past year, we thought that the money he sends could help renovate finish the house. Last Monday, we started with the cement fence.
If you look at the picture closely,
