Featured Mommy: Cecile Cinco

This week’s featured mommy is Cecile Cinco a.k.a. C5 in the blogging world.

Here’s her answer to “As a mother, what do you think will be the best teachings you can pass on to your children?

It is common knowledge that mothers teach their kids how to develop their motor skills like walking and running, their speech, and as they grow, how to go about their social skills especially when dealing with classmates and neighbors and friends.

In addition to that, I believe my kids ought to know about God. How to trust in Him, follow Him and know that He will direct their paths, protect them and bless them as they go about their growing years so that when they are old, they will not depart from those teachings.

They ought to know that God’s way works best…That it is to their advantage to trust and rely on Him and obey Him. Having God as their Guide, their Provider, Protector, Blesser, who can be against them? Surely trials will come but through those trials it will be easier for them to overcome as long as God is on their side…and the only way God can be on their side is if they obey and follow Him. (Deuteronomy 11:18-28)

They also ought to know to put on the whole armour of God that they may be able to withstand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11-18)

They should also learn not to worry for God will provide their needs. (Matthew 6:25-31)

They should learn to be patient toward all, rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in every thing, give thanks. (1 Thessalonians 5:14-18).

Actually, there are a lot I would like to teach them but I start with these.
