Gripe water

gripe waterBabies with colic are not easy to handle. It’s either you lose your temper or let your baby suffer from gaspain.

When we were in Bahrain, there was a period when Deye would cry for no reason. I’ve almost lost my temper one day coz that time I had no proper sleep as well. I didn’t know what to do. I was alone in the house. I guess Deye stopped crying coz she got tired. I mentioned this to my Sri Lankan colleague and she mentioned that gripe water really works in times like this. Babies feel  relieved and better. Gripe water isn’t just for gaspain or kabag, it also relieves teething pain. Perfect for babies who suffer from teething pain.

Gripe water is a home remedy for infants with colic, gastrointestinal discomfort, teething pain, reflux and other stomach ailments. It is typically given to an infant with a dropper in liquid form, and adults may also take gripe water for soothing intestinal pains, gas or other stomach ailments.[1]

Since then, I always make sure that gripe water is available in the house. Unfotunately, this is not available in the Philippines that is why I take advantage everytime my husband comes home and sends packages. At the moment, I only have 2 bottles available and thinking of asking my husband to send some more to make sure I won’t run out of it. Good thing as a DHL employee, they have 15kgs free of charge sending packages each year. Not bad eh? Enough to load our essentials that are not found here.
