I’ve been wanting to ride on this loomband craze but didn’t know where to get them until I learned that Nicquee, a fellow blogger of mine is selling them online. I immediately purchased a starter kit with refill packs and tried but failed.
My daughters, who were so eager to wear some have been bugging me but unfortunately, my Internet connection won’t just cooperate. There’s no way for me to watch the tutorials on YouTube. So just to satisfy them, I taught them the traditional way of looping the rubber bands, just like how my parents taught me before, using my fingers. In their case, including their toes haha!
Not too good looking bands but enough to make my girls smile. Until… I got the hang of it, and finally my connection has been so kind to me these days, letting me watch tutorials on YouTube. Once you understand the looping, hooking and capping of bands, it’s as easy as 1-2-3. So far these are my personal favorites.
If couple shirts are everywhere online, why not make family loombands for a change haha! I did the Zippy design above by SoCraftastic (But I guess my husband didn’t like the color combination that I made for him, coz he requested for an all black bracelet hahaha!).
Since my girls are used to wear matching stuff, I also made matching bracelets for them.
The below bracelets are made of the Triple Chain design using jelly bands. I love them better, too pretty to look at and elastic allowing you to stretch the band without worrying that you’d break it.
Since it’s too confusing to recognize which ones are for Deye and Ishi, I made a color combination in contrast. I’m so happy with how they came out!!
More of my creations, of course with the help of online tutorials like SoCraftastic’s, can be found here. As of today, I’ve already made about 22 bracelets but a few of them were given away.
Thanks to Nicquee! “Boredom strikes” is no more applicable to me!
If you want to have your own kit, please feel free to contact her through her FB by leaving her a private message. Or just drop me a word and I’ll be glad to walk you through to her.
Loombands have become pretty popular these days. I see them almost everywhere! 🙂
