Ants in the household can be really annoying, especially when they start destroying stuff around your household. Here are some tips that I have come across online, while some were already tried and tested:
(1) Mix a cup of warm water with ½ cup sugar and 3 tablespoons borax. Soak it up with cotton balls and place them in shallow dishes near ant trails. Borax can be substituted by natural ingredients, including vinegar, baking soda and coffee grinds.
(2) Spray vinegar near baseboards, countertops or anywhere where they may be traveling. Repeat spraying vinegar several times of the day. This is what I usually do. I also discovered that fabric softener can also be a good substitute to spraying vinegar. With that, your house will also have a pleasant smell as if you are using an air freshener.
(3) Soapy water also kills ants. A very cheap method as it only consists of one teaspoon of liquid dish soap into a spray bottle filled with water. When you see ants, spray onto them and that’s it!
(4) Sprinkle a line of flour wherever you see ants entering the house. By doing this, ants won’t cross over the line.
That’s it! Let me know if one of these 4 worked for you.
