When SAHMone Speaks #24

When do you think you should let your child go to school alone? My 5 y/o daughter has been going to school for 3 years now. She may have well adjusted with the environment and people around her when she’s in her school but I still don’t see that she’s ready to be left alone there.

For the past 3 years, she is chaperoned by my mom in their school service. The school service has an attendant but I would rather pay extra for my mom than to think about her if she has gone to school safely. Their school teacher do not let the child come out of the room until unless the fetcher is there already, but I feel that these days no matter how you know the person well, it’s still not that safe. As I always say, I will only entrust my child to someone who will care for her 100%.

  1. we let the girls walk with her friends, but alone, not yet… that happened once when we forgot the schedule of MC, she walked home alone. but she was with a group of kids half of the way… when we were in pinas, the girls refused to join the school bus, too.
