I still vividly remember the way I looked like on my 18th birthday. My hair was long and curly. I worn a lavender cocktail dress. My birthday favors matched and made by my mom – crocheted mini baskets and hats in violet. And my invitations? I made it all by myself. I bought a ready made cards from Recto though and had all the texts written in script by yours truly.
So sad that all my photos were damaged the last time a big flood hit our place. I only got the video now with me. Guess what do I have in my right now? Would my 2 year old Deye wish for the same dream birthday my parents had given me when I was 18? Would she also go after and choose some nice and elegant invitations i.e. Quinceanera invitations? Or would she prefer a grand birthday gift from us, say a car of her own? Now that has to remain a dream until we can afford it and reached 21 at least….
