Some people had asked me why did you name your daughter Derelle Francella? “
Ang haba…. Kawawa bata pag nagsulat ng buong pangalan isama pa apelyido ninyong mag-asawa”.
Sa mga hindi nakakaalam eto yan:
Derrick (hubby) + Michelle (me) = Derelle
Francia (my mother) + Estella (MIL) = Francella
Kung Derelle lang kasi masyadong bitin. Kaya may second name hehe! I was even ready for a boy’s name kung sakaling naging lalaki.
Myrick Andrei (just like Derelle Francella, it’s also a rumble-combination of our names and lolos’ names.
For one simple reason, we wanted a unique name for our daughter. Unlike my name, very common.
Imagine, when I was still a student, dami kong kapangalan sa class. Especially nung college. We were 3 Michelles and 2 Cortezes. Lagi kaya akong kinakabog sa oral recitation hehehe! Kasi pag tinawag ang Michelle hala sino kayang Michelle. Kahit Cortez ang tawagin sino naman kayang Cortez sa amin yun? :p
And obvious ba? Sa Beatles nakuha ang pangalan ko, fanatic kasi nun ang father ko hehehe!

ah oo, i know a lot of michelles 🙂
ok lang, di naman masyadong mahaba ang pangalan niya. uso naman na ngayon ang 2 names. i know kids with 4-5 names, wala pa ang middle at last name dyan ha. 🙂
Kung susundin kasi namin ang tradisyon sa side ng asawa ko, it goes like this :
Given names + Christian name nung binyag + Ninang’s name + my family name + hubby’s family name.
Kaloka!
Buti na lang di namin sinunod.
pinoy likes double names…
dito [sa north america], yun second name ng mga anak ko ay nagiging middle name nila. so nawawala na tuloy ang maiden name ko sa pangalan nila. kahit na ilan beses kong i-correct, ganoon daw talaga dito.
if ever you decided to migrate, your daughter’s name will be Derelle F [then your lastname].
good share thanks have nice blog
