Take a {virtual} vacation. Grab a travel magazine, and think that you are in one of those beaches rejuvenating. A glance {with my eyeglasses on, I just can’t live without it *sigh*} at the waves and smell of the ocean sometimes help. Or otherwise, drive to the nearest beach where no one else visits and scream at the top of your lungs. Never tried this though haha! People might think I am in deep frustration. But really I wanted to try at least once.
Crank up some tunes. Play music that brings up good memories. People say that you should choose one that triggers a positive image, not a negative one. But in my case, when I’m stressed or depressed, I opt to listen to sad songs. I don’t know but songs like this somehow take me to somewhere – somewhere connected to my heart heehee!
Connect with a toddler. Some people say socialization sometimes help us forget what we worry about at the moment and meeting up with grown ups like your friends {if you have at least one around you} is the best option. But what happens when most of your friends are gone somewhere far away from you? You know what I do? I simply connect with my daughter, listen to her songs and figure out her new words and stories. And that’s it, my day is brightened up!
