Just because I started feeling the changes on my skin as I age, I have also been religiously hunting for the right skincare for me. The latest I tried was the Konjac Sponge, Miine brand. Obviously, what I needed was the age defense type so I bought the Green Tea which is mainly for this purpose, also perfect for both dry and sensitive skin.
Sorry, I completely forgot to take a photo when the sponge was still packed and sealed inside the box but this is how it looks like when still sealed.
The texture exactly looks like a sea coral when dehydrated, and is hard like a stone, with a very lightweight.
Directions to use:
1. Before use, soak thoroughly for 3-5 minutes in warm water.
2. Gently massage face in a circular motion. Here’s a quick video on how I did it. Sorry that’s how gentle for me is haha!
Since I have the Olay foaming cleanser that I use daily, I do it alternately using the sponge without it first, then I apply the Olay, massage my face with it using the konjac sponge, and again without the facial wash. Then finally, I rinse my face with water.
3. After use, clean and rinse well. Hang by the string to dry thoroughly. Sterilize with boiling water once a week.
I find using this sponge safer, especially when washing your face after removing your make up. It helps you remove the remaining products on your face thoroughly.
Konjac Sponge is said to be perfect for daily cleansing, to gently exfoliate and purify the skin while stimulating blood flow and encourage regeneration. It is made using the moisture-rich fibers from the root of the konjac plant and is rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
When to use?
It is safe to use daily but only when it is fully hydrated, otherwise, it may scratch your face.
When to change/discard?
Replace ideally every month, when the sponge starts to break down.
Miine Konjac Sponges are available at Watson’s, for Php119 only. Not bad eh? I also saw one in black, Bamboo Charcoal for acne control, in the same brand and price.
So far so good, it didn’t have any violent reaction on my face. I am going to hoard soon! Haha!
Nice review.
I never heard about this product and brand before, seems to be very good I may try it soon!
