It’s been 16 years ago since we held our hands together singing our graduation song to our dear Alma Mater, St. Joseph’s High School St. Joseph College….
Right in front of this stage, we, too, had uttered our pledge of loyalty….
While my cousins Jamie and Kaycee recited this pledge of loyalty with their hands up swearing, I’ve also felt the same thing and even wanted to raise my hand again and swear…. No kidding! I even looked at where my two titas were sitting and told them to raise their hands too! Hahaha! Yep, we all graduated from the same school, from my dad, now down to the youngsters in the family.
Last night, I was able to witness another graduation that these 2 girls made special. They are close to me…. I handed them over silver bracelets with their names engraved on it, and a date at the back of the bar plate to remind them on this special challenging day “from this day on, you are on your own planning for your future“. No more long time old friends to be with you during recess times, unless you decide to enroll in the same school which very seldom happens.
It was also last night when I realized it’s been 16 long years ago… when I also went up the stage with my mother to receive my awards, including the loyalty award that this nourishing school had presented to me. Yep, I studied there for 10 long years…. 10 long years….
Before I end this post, let me proudly present to you our newly graduates, Kaycee and Jamie:
May you both find your way back to our Alma Mater after you found what you’re looking for… Congratulations and welcome to the club!
