This year is the 3rd year that my eldest is participating in their School’s Halloween Special.
In year 2009, she was a Pink Fairy. The dress itself was actually inspired by Tinkerbell’s and I gave it a little twist by changing the strap into a feather material. I bought an extra feather materials to accessorize her white ballerina shoes so that she’d have a matching dress and wings. The wings were ready made, it came with a magic wand and head pieces. I had her hair tied up, clipped my wedding hair extension and tiara on it. Then I bought stickers for her face and arms for only Php5 each set. Click on the image for larger view.
I really made an effort in producing this costume. It’s worth it! She bagged the Best in Costume that year. I also didn’t have a hard time making her wear it, it was her choice, that’s why.
Last year, she was a Little Wicked Witch. I only had to buy the witch hat, broom stick and wrapper for the handle. The rest were already found in her closet. Oh, the black witch gown was actually borrowed from someone. I did her make up. We actually had a make up rehearsal days before the event haha!

Again, I didn’t have a hard time making her wear this costume. It was again her choice to be a witch!
This year, since I don’t have time for a custom made one, we only bought a ready made one. And I’m glad there were choices for her to choose from. I won’t reveal what she will be this time, not just yet…
Bottomline, when choosing Halloween Costumes for your kids, make sure that it is their choice. Nothing too fancy that will somehow make them uncomfortable.
hmm, di ko pa naexperience damitan ng halloween costume mga boys ko…..no reason eh, kj tatay nila, kakunsume!
Ikaw na lang sumama lola, mag-eenjoy ang mga bata for sure.
I wanted to participate in Halloween Parties but my husband doesn’t approve of it so my kids don’t just enjoy the PC during sem-breaks. LOL!!
Anyway, I was once a witch when I was still working.
I’m sure your kids will enjoy, sama na lang sya para pumayag hehe!
Parang I’ve seen that photo nga before.
