Sometimes it can be easy to think that what everyone is achieving is way better than the stuff you are doing. Especially in terms of gardening. Have you seen some of those amazing pictures online on blogs and Instagram of the fabulous results that folks are getting with their outdoor spaces? But you know what they say: ‘comparison is the thief joy.’ So it’s really better to take your eyes off what everyone else is doing, and just focus on the things that you can get done in your own outside space. Read on discover what they are.
Lush lawns So the number one thing on most people’s lists is getting their lawn to look lush and green. But that is often easier said than done. In fact, there is quite a lot that can go wrong with your lawn that you need to be able to deal with, to keep it looking its best.
One of the most common issues is that it may dry out. This can happen if the sun has been particularly strong lately, or there is a hosepipe ban. It basically means that the grass shoots aren’t getting enough moisture to be able to survive. But what can you do to remedy this?
Well, first of all, water the area. It may be that you have to do it manually to avoid prohibitions on garden water use. But without this, the situation will never get any better. But if the grass has died of totally, then in it may be time to sprinkle some new grass seed on the area and allow that to grow, thus replacing the dry brown patch.
Use the space The next thing you can do to focus on improving your own garden is to take a look at how you are using the space. Is it being put to its best advantage? Or could you move things around or section some areas off to make it better?
Sectioning particular areas off, and treating them like different rooms can be a wonderful way of getting variety into your garden without it looking too piecemeal. It can also help create little pockets of tranquility which are perfect for sunbathing, meditation, or just sitting out in the sun with a good book.
You have the option of creating barriers between garden rooms with shrubbery and bushes. Or speaking to professional fencing contractors to see what solution they can come up with for this situation.
Plant power Of course, one of the most important things that you can improve in your garden space is the planting, and this is likely to make the biggest difference to the garden anyway.
But choosing plants can be difficult, it’s not just a matter of getting particular types and varieties like succulents, perennials and ferns. You also have to work out whether you have the right soil to grow them and whether they will thrive best in a sunny or shaded area.
So make sure to do your homework before you put them in the ground. Otherwise, it could cost you a lot of time, money, and effort for little reward.
Great! I also want to live in a garden house, but we have no place to plant. We just planted some flowers around my house without proper arrangement. After your post, I need to change the location of some plants in my house. Thank you so much dear!
