This week’s WQ is:
If we set aside an extra hour each day to do what we would rather do and not what we should be doing, what would you choose to do?
This question really made me think deep. I don’t think this question is for me coz right now I have all the time in the world to do the things that every woman wishes for.
But, if this question was asked back the times when I was still a working mother, I’d definitely spend that hour exclusively for myself. If you are a working mother abroad, you’d understand why. There, I didn’t have anyone else to rely on but myself and my husband. You really have to set up a daily routine for yourself especially i.e. get up in the morning, prepare everything for the baby, go to work, get exhausted etc. And another routine in the evening time. There were times when I badly wanted to go to a salon, have a haircut or treat myself for a pedicure, but I couldn’t because I have a daughter to look after to. Of course, my husband had given his best fair share but sometimes you feel that you just needed time for yourself. Just for yourself alone.
So now I am enjoying every moment that I missed for the past years.
So true, I sometimes miss myself. One of the jokes I have with friends who also have children is that “Sa banyo na nga lang ang oras para sa sarili, me kakatok pa” 😀
Though now, I can do things that I want to do like read a book or blog or go somewhere especially if my hubby is around to look after the kids or to drive me where I have to go, still the kids are in the background but I don’t mind.
Thanks for doing this Mitch 🙂
Have a great week.

Great answer Mitch. We all need to have quality time for ourselves.

Thanks Rach! Yup, we all do actually.
Sige visit ko maya maya.
It’s not because we became a Mom we are not entitled to have a precious/quality time for ourselves. I think having a “me time” is not being self-centered rather a sense of self importance!
