This week’s WQ is:
How would you like to spend your special day, your birthday?
As much as possible I want it simple. I’m not a party girl so expect that. For the past 8 years, I don’t remember throwing a party on my birthday. I go to the Church and give thanks that I have completed another year. Or if time allows, I usually celebrate it with my husband, we dine out and that’s it!
But this year, there was a simple celebration. My plan was to have a simple celebration as much as possible. Some sort of a get together enough to make up or the years that I am not able to spend with the whole family. Family means our whole clan. But…. all of them came even my cousins who stay in Manila. I rented a karaoke. Hard drinks served for the olds. Beers served for the not-so-old heehee! 8kgs of spag was finished. 4kgs of pork for pulutan served. A cake that reads Happy 30th something was also there. Just a recap, I made a joke a day before my bday. My tita who also gave the cake came with me in the market to purchase the things needed for my bday. She’s the expert! And I made a joke that I wish to have a cake that reads Happy 30th something as I didn’t want to reveal my real age to everyone. So she granted my wish haha! Anyway, the plans to make it simple never happened. There was even a continuation the next day. I decided not to return the karaoke yet and called all my cousins the next day. We had lunch together, I prepared something special. To cut it short, I crossed the budget limit. But no regrets. Everyone was happy. Besides I haven’t done it for a while. But maybe next year, it’ll be a normal and ordinary bday for me once again. Besides a candle that reads 33rd bday won’t look good on the cake anymore! Haha!
If money, time and resources are available, I really would appreciate a trip somewhere I’ve not gone to. Somewhere relaxing and quiet. I want to spend it with my family – hubby and two kids, then maybe next time just the two of us ni hubby. But since my birthday usually falls on a rainy day, indoor is still a pleasurable option as long as I’m with my family and few friends.
BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
