Was there a time in your life when you thought “running away” was the only solution to your problem? I actually did. Being the breadwinner 15 years back, I was also the absorber of the not-so-good mood in the household. I see the problems everyday. I see right in front my eyes what and where we lack. I feel the tension. I carry the loads. I thought going somewhere will at least unload half of it. Financial wise, I’d be able to earn more and send money home. At least I won’t see the problems everyday, and if there are, I’d just have to send money and that was it.
I was wrong. It wasn’t the solution. It took me a while till I get used to the situation and the label of being an OFW. It wasn’t an easy journey. I’m really glad I’m over it now. I survived. I learned that running away is not a solution. Of course, it isn’t. And that is what I am doing now, I face the problems I am going through one at a time.
Hi sis, I know that it is not easy being an OFW, we do belong to the Pamilyang OFW and just when every one else is thinking that every sacrifice is equated with the financial bliss brought about by being an OFW…they are wrong…I just hope that the children, the family and relatives of the OFW will see the sacrifices of their OFW loved ones…

You bet. People think life and work abroad are about everything. Ito ang literal na dugo at pawis ang kapalit.
Thanks for joining!
Hi sis. Hirap tlgang mging breadwinner… hay kung pwedi lang maging mayaman lahat tyo para di na isipin pa ang pera. Pero if you think about it hindi lang money ang kailangan to live db? I think most of us knew that hindi lang kaagad narerealize. 🙂
Glad we have family and friends to care for us. 🙂

I can’t blame you for having thought of running away to solve your problem. Your role wasn’t easy at all. My family is made up of a lot of OFWs as well, and until we cannot recognize the pain and the sacrifice that our OFW loved ones are doing and experiencing, we won’t be able to appreciate the role that they portray. I always remind my family that OFW living is not easy and that they should learn to value the hard-earned money that they are receiving.
BTW, that 3rd link is mine and I’m sorry for some typo there. That’s supposed to be NO to Running Away and not Bo. Lol.
Have a great week ahead!

it is so hard being an OFW. I wasn’t able to work outside the country but I can feel the hardship:( kasi I have so many friends and cousins who are abroad and they feel alone:(
I was also on the verge of going out of the country in order to earn more money:(

Mahirap talagang maging bread-winner. Most parents would need to sacrifice being away from their kids para lang mabigyan ng magandang life.. Liked your Facebook page..hope you can do the same..thanks
Hi Eds! Nung daddy ko OFW, I never appreciated what he was doing, and whenever I asked for something at di nabigay masama loob ko. Nung turn ko na, that’s when I realized they don’t mine gold over there.
