Having given the trust to manage and head the PH Team motivates me enough to do better and better. Being recognized and appreciated all the time is a great feeling. Whenever I look back to the times when I used to commute back and forth to get to the office on time, I just smile and tell myself “Good thing I readily ditched my office-based job when I felt the need to, otherwise, I would still be one of those who whines every day how traffic affects their daily commute experiences, especially during the rainy season.”
If you work with a flexible schedule, it’s vital to arrange your day painstakingly. Ask yourself how long do you plan to function that day? In my case, I work with a fixed schedule, which works for me better. Just in time when the kids are at school. It is as if I still work and function in a corporate world with the difference that I work from home from 8am to 4pm, with weekend days off, Philippine holidays, sick and paid leaves. Also, when I need to attend to personal errands like attending school meetings, my boss is understanding and considerate as that.
During the time when the girls need my assistance in completing their homework, I just let them sit beside me, guide them, and still carry on with what I am currently working on.
When one of them falls sick, I don’t need to worry. I can still watch over them and continue working. No need to file a leave just to be with them. You know kids tend to get more clingy when sick. If there’s one interruption that I hate the most is when there is a whole day power outage in my area. Now this is the advantage when you work from home/remotely, for as long as there is an Internet connection and you have your laptop with you, you are good to GO, literally, GO anywhere where there is a WI-FI connection. And I thank the owner of Retro Throwback Cafe for being so considerate sparing me a table at their Cafe each time there is power interruption in my area. It could get a little costly for me to order food for the full 8 hours, but it serves as a breather to work in a different environment once in a while. As long as I am powered by a cup of coffee, I’m good.
Or I guess I am too lucky to have relatives in Olongapo who got WI-FI connection at home. That also gives me the chance to bond and meet with them which happens occasionally mostly.
Others may still don’t get this set-up, but who cares? We still get questions like “Do they really pay?” and things alike. As the saying goes “At the end of the day, you are solely responsible for your success and your failure. “Despite the possible little challenges, I still love my online job! I have a great team and boss! Something that is usually not a good combination, but in my case, I was blessed to have both.”
Online job it the new black! You own your time, and you become more creative 🙂 Wishing more projects to you!
Congrats! I wish you more hotels to handle hihihi. I mean, continuous blessings on your online job 🙂
PS: bisitahin mo mga CnS mo ha pag free time mo. sige ka, dadayuhin kita dyan, aampunin ang iba sa kanila hahaha
Hahaha onga napabayaan ko na sila.
I think everyone works in a different way and there are just those who can work at home or in a coffee shop. I say, different strokes for different folks. Do whatever works for you and just leave the others alone. I don’t understand why some people get bothered by this.
True. Others seem to be mostly affected for no reason at all.
Hay brownouts. And inconsiderate people. haha people think I don’t do anything especially that I don’t have a “job”. Well, wala di naman talaga akong job hahaha Blagger lang naman po ako. :p
