Yesterday was another worth-sharing experience that can be proudly added to my work from home journey. It’s payback time! ZOEVAS had its first on-site free workshop on how to get started to work from home. We had about 25 attendees and all seem to be happier, less confused, and motivated as they left the room.
When I was new to this field, we had no support groups, no workshops, not many tutorials found on the Internet. So just imagine the struggle and self-study hours that we had experienced and spent over the years? I know the feeling. It’s not easy. Many times I felt so clueless but I got to do it for myself. This is why I am more than willing to share what I’ve learned for the past 10 years. From the tools that I’ve already used down to the challenges and experiences, I’ve had in the past.
Jen, the woman behind The Digital Commuter and ZOEVAS, Connected Women and Linkedin Local Meetup Host in Zambales, has once again invited me to be one of the mentors of yesterday’s free on-site workshop. Despite my lack of self-confidence to stand in front of a crowd, just like in the recent Linkedin Local Meetup in Subic, I still agreed. I don’t care if I was shaking as I uttered my first few words yesterday, for as long as my purpose was served, then I am good.
To my co-admins at ZOEVAS, Crystal Geronimo, who never failed to make me laugh and always surprises me of what she got and has to share, of course, Jen Cajucom, the woman behind the Zambales’ firsts, my mentor (Yeah, she definitely is. She never gets tired of pushing me to do more and believe in myself – that soon I’ll be able to conquer my fear of facing the crowd!), cheers to us! Oooops, “pizza” to us!! Yeah, we deserve those SLICES yesterday!!
Most especially, to our attendees, thanks for your invested time despite having it on a weekend. We felt your eagerness to learn. Your looks, your focus during the session, and your efforts to travel far were enough to prove your sincerity and eagerness to learn. So as early as now, let me congratulate all of you for making the first move! It’s now time to make another step forward. Let’s take it to the next level! Apply what you learned yesterday and start – NOW!
