If I remember it right, eto yung first time naming nagcelebrate ng Valentine’s Day together. We have been together for 24 years now pero never got the chance to spend it together.
When we were working abroad, we would only see each other after work, at bilang pareho kaming nasa hotel industry that time, wala kaming karapatan an magcelebrate kasi eto din yung kabusy-han.
At hindi siya yung tipo ng lalaki na nagsusurprise bilang may attitude din kasi ako minsan lalo na pag di ko gusto hahaha! Sorry na agad. There were times na “reference number” na lang ng bank transaction ang ipapadala nya and he will let me choose or decide kung ano ang gusto kong gawin sa pera.
But as we grow older, parang dun pa lang namin nananamnam ang pagiging “couple”, kahit #LDR. Siguro kasi at this time, we can afford na to buy bouquet of flowers, and spend extra on a dinner date.
Back story pa lang yan ha? Ang haba na haha!
As I write this, naka-smile pa din ako. Kita niyo ba? Hahaha!
So ayun na nga, few days before Valentine’s Day, he asked me “Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?” Ako naman pabebe, “Why me? Surprise me ah!” Eh wala naman daw siyang alam na puntahan dito bilang bakasyonista lang si Ser haha!
A day before yesterday, he asked me again at around 6am “Decided for tomorrow? How about we watch a movie before dinner?” So I ended up booking a table for dinner, at 7pm. Pero kahapon nagyaya ng maaga na pumunta ng Olongapo. Get what I want daw, maybe a dress or just anything. Sabi ko siyempre ng mabilis, “Sige, let’s go to SM!” Ayaw nya sa SM! Sa Harbour Point na lang daw.
He was leading the way habang ako eh nanghahaba ang leeg sa mga ladies’ wear hahaha! Saktong malapit ang Uniqlo (taking advantage yarn?!) sa Details & Blooms, which happens to be co-owned by my cousin. Nagbiro pa siya “Sige, choose na.” Ako naman na maldita na din talaga since birth, “Wow, ang sweet! Ako talaga pipili, walang surprise??!”
At before that eh kachat na pala niya ang napakaganda kong pinsan na itago natin sa pangalang Ivy Gay. Nagiging consistent kayo, girl! Mag-eexpect na ako niyan lagi tuwing November at February.
Kaya maganda din talaga minsan na di ka nag-eexpect, kasi may may kilig. And it is not actually about the flowers, or whatever you receive, it is about the thoughts and gesture na kahit pa-silver na ang aming pagsasama, eh parang ngayon pa lang nagbubloom ang relationship namin which is actually better para mas tumibay, lalo na at LDR kami.
When I posted my VDay greetings for him “Waking up in your arms today is my favorite blessing.” I really meant that – from the bottom of my heart.
