One of the many reasons why I decided to keep my job even after having 2 girls to look after to is keeping up with the family monthly budget. With the continuous price hike around the world plus the economy status, whether we like it or not, our cost of living is affected regardless the place and currency.
My husband works abroad but there are times when we still have to really stretch the budget to make the ends meet. Plus the fact that our girls are growing fast and the needs are also growing day by day. Next year, we will have to send our youngest to pre-school and that would mean additional expenses for school requirements. Meaning school snacks and miscellaneous expenses like programme, school service and add-on fees will also be added.
Some people would sometimes ask me, why do you still work when your husband provides almost everything that your household needs? Or why not give your girls a baby brother, you can afford another one anyway? And then what? Let the kids suffer for not having the best in their lives? Sure we can do that but we had to drop “most of the pleasures” that we are getting now. No more authentic Barbie dolls and branded clothes or otherwise we would always have to depend waiting for toys r us coupons that we could grab just to give in to what they “want”. I’m sure no parent would want to deprive their kids from having these.
This is why we try to manage and handle the high risk of having issues for being in a long distance relationship, no matter how hard it is for us, we try our best to survive.
