No bragging here but when my dad was still working abroad, it’s almost like we had a collection of gold jewelries. My dad would buy jewelry in bulk, and give some away to his siblings and of course to my mom and I, like there’s no tomorrow. I guess every OFW does that. And I’m glad he did. Those jewelries of mine actually saved us when my dad lost his job back in 1996.
Of course, I was lucky enough to find a job and given a break despite being undergraduate but it wasn’t enough. My dad fell ill and I also had to do something about his therapy. My brother who was still in grade school needed my support as well.
I’m glad with the amount of jewelries that I had before, I was able to make the ends meet when badly needed.
