Back when I was in grade 1, I remember my mom giving me P1 everyday for my school pocket money aside from the usual baon that she prepares for me. P1 seemed so big amount already that time, besides, I had a school service to pick me up so there’s no need for extra money for that.
My 5 y/o daughter is now in grade 1 but I have never given her any pocket money since the school has started. I just feel it’s not appropriate. Not just yet. She’s got everything with her anyway. She has her snacks and lunch pack. My mom goes with her to school with the school service so even if she wants something from the convenient store, my mom is there to look after the items that are to go through a barcode scanner.
Maybe when she’s ready to go to school alone, all by herself, I will slowly introduce her the value of of money, literally.
